FORTINBRAS, a wild and raucous comedy by Lee Blessing which picks up where HAMLET leaves off, is Theatre Fairfield's opening show of the 2019-20 season. Tickets are NOW ON SALE at the Quick Center Box office for all performances: Opening Night, Wednesday, October 23 at 8 PM; Thursday, October 24 and Friday, October 25 at 8 PM; Saturday, October 26 at 3 PM; Sunday, October 27 at 2 PM. Tickets are $5 for all students, $10 university staff and seniors; $18 general public; FREE for Fairfield faculty!

Fortinbras stars Prince Fortinbras (the guy who shows up at the end of HAMLET) who ends up becoming King of Denmark. He is an opportunistic, brash, ambitious young man who stumbles into Elsinore and abruptly and ineptly takes over. If you are a fan of TV shows like VEEP or THE OFFICE you'll love this play. The humor is broad, the characters wild and unpredictable and the situations they find themselves in are bawdy, violent, sexy, and slapstick. Throw in some sword fights, an accidental hanging and some undiluted hanky-panky and you start to scratch the surface of this imaginative, outrageous and timely comedy of errors.

The cast includes Kierstin Bjork, Carlin Fournier, Martha Hegley, Maya Kapur, Park Lytle, Samantha Millette, Declan Quigley, Emily Ramsey, Michael Stack, and Fallon Sullivan. Kierstin Jones is stage managing with Chase O'Brien as her assistant stage manager.

We look forward to seeing you at the theatre!
