Addressing Global Issues: Connecting Scholars & Practitioners

The International Studies Program co-hosted with the Politics Department will present its first Lecture Series event of the spring TODAY, February 15 titled, Addressing Global Issues: Connecting Scholars & Practitioners, presented by Fairfield's own, Dr. Lembe Tiky, Assistant Professor of Politics.

This is an exciting opportunity for the campus community, students and faculty interested in exploring the practical interconnections between International Studies and Politics. Dr. Tiky will discuss how academics and practitioners of international relations can connect and influence global politics, while also addressing challenges they may encounter and suggesting ways forward.

Dr. Tiky’s research interests are in international relations and comparative politics and include topics such as democratization, development, human rights, and African security issues and foreign relations. Dr. Tiky is the author of two books and coeditor of an edited volume on Cameroon. His latest work appeared in The African Review and Africa Spectrum He served as Director of Academic Development of the International Studies Association (ISA) for many years and was program chair of the first ISA conference in Africa in 2019.

Please join us Thursday, February 15th at 5:30 pm in the Library Multimedia Room.

Lite fare and refreshments will be served.
