Careers in Foreign Service networking round table with Bill Sugrue '74.  

Thursday, October 17th, 3 pm, CNS 200

Bill spent more than thirty years working for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), focusing on environment, natural resource management, and social equity. He served as Officer in Charge for the India Desk, Director of the Global Office of Environment and Natural Resources Management in Washington, D.C., and managed programs in Peru, Haiti and Central America. He retired as a Senior Foreign Service Officer.

Prior to USAID, he spent four years in a small Ethiopian village as a Peace Corps Volunteer. “It At One Hundred” is a memoir of his time there.

Bill received his BA in Political Science from Fairfield University, an MS in Agriculture from Sam Houston State University, and spent a year as a Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, Princeton University.
