The Italian Factor

Please join us on Thursday, April 18 at 5pm for a screening of the director’s cut of The Italian Factor, a documentary that explores the Piccirilli family of sculptors, artisans whose extraordinary contributions left a lasting mark on America, and on New York City in particular.  A Q& A with director Eduardo Montes-Bradley will follow the film in the Diffley room of Bellarmine Hall.

Mr. Montes-Bradley has researched the illustrious Piccirilli brothers whose work in the United States includes many important works of public art including the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Arch in Greenwich Village, murals in Rockefeller Center and the lions outside the New York Public Library.  The Italian Factor extends beyond the Piccirillis’ collaborations with famous American sculptors such as Daniel Chester French to examine the family’s legacy as master teachers.

This event, which is sponsored by the Italian Studies program, the department of Modern Languages & Literatures, the department of Visual & Performing Arts, Fairfield University Art Museum, the Arts Institute, and the Humanities Institute in the College of Arts & Sciences, is free and open to the public.
