Solar Eclipse Viewing @ the Library - 4/8

Date: 04-08-2024

Location: DiMenna-Nyselius Library

On Monday April 8th drop by the DiMenna-Nyselius Library to view the solar eclipse. While Fairfield is not in the direct path of totality, we will still see something spectacular (weather permitting, between 2:10pm-4:36pm).

Safety is the number one priority when viewing a total solar eclipse. The Library has purchased 150 pairs of ISO certified protective glasses to give out at the event (additional pairs purchased for Bellarmine campus). In addition, faculty from the Physics department will set up a telescope and screen outside of the Library. Eclipse protective glasses will only be distributed at the event on April 8th to Fairfield University students, faculty, and staff.

We will also livestream NASA's coverage of the eclipse in the CAS Innovation Lab from 1-5pm.

Many thanks to faculty in the School of Engineering, College of Arts & Sciences, and the Science Center for their support of this event.
