Global Theatre: A Performance Series
Theatre That Changes OUR World
Curated by Cheryl Wiesenfeld

WOMEN ON FIRE: Stories from the Frontlines has a vibrant message to impart to young women today. It’s an energizing evening – a well directed and performed mélange of monologues surrounded by excellent dancers, who weave through the taut 80-minute performance, providing wisdom, beauty, and even some comic relief from our current political climate.

The cast for this benefit evening include:

  • Yassmin Alers (On Your Feet, Across the Universe, Chain Link, The Capeman, Rent)
  • Gina Naomi Baez (She’s Gotta Have It, Triple Threat, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Orange is the New Black)
  • Kathleen Chalfant (House of Cards, Law & Order, The Affair, Angels in America, Wit)
  • Maddie Corman (Accidentally Brave, Some Kind of Wonderful, When We Rise, Next Fall)
  • Gargi Mukherjee (The Namesake, Karma Calling)
  • Alysia Reiner (Orange is the New Black, Better Things, How to Get Away with Murder, Egg, The Deuce)
  • Laila Robins (Murder in the First, Deception, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Heartbreak House, Frozen)
  • Constance Shulman (Orange is the New Black, Doug, The Broken Ones, The Rose Tattoo)
  • Lianah Sta. Ana (Miss Saigon)
  • Ashley Williams (The Jim Gaffigan Show, How I Met Your Mother, Something Borrowed, A Time to Kill)

FRONTLINES: Stories From The Edge – showcase real narratives and concerns which plague our nation and the world. These stories are painfully familiar.

These issues are humanized by their presence on the stage. Last year, we focused outward to immigration and gun violence. This year, we turn inward and introspective to look at the #MeToo movement and suicide.

Our goal is to open minds and effect change.

These are our stories…
