Cybersecurity Update: New iPhone SMS Phishing Attack

Apple recently issued a security alert regarding a sophisticated SMS phishing ("smishing") campaign targeting iPhone users. Cybercriminals are sending deceptive text messages that appear to be from Apple, aiming to steal Apple ID credentials. These messages prompt users to click on a link that leads to a fake iCloud login page, where they are tricked into entering their Apple ID and password. The University is monitoring this incident to keep the community apprised as more details and information emerge.
