Help Welcome Our Students to Campus: Move-in Volunteers Needed

From Friday, August 30, 2024, to Monday, September 2, 2024, Fairfield University will officially welcome our newest Stags—the class of 2028—and welcome back our current students for the fall semester.

Fairfield University seeks 100 employees to help with move-in weekend, spread out across three days. We need assistance in various roles, such as traffic direction, key distribution, assisting Residence Life with clerical tasks, gathering empty move-in carts, and other duties as assigned.

With first-year move-in on a full work day, employees working move-in on Friday, August 30 should seek approval from supervisors before signing up and will be paid as per usual for that day.  Those volunteering on September 1 and September 2 will not be paid unless they are regularly scheduled to work.  But, you will have the opportunity to welcome students and guests to our campus, get a t-shirt, food, and the chance to work with colleagues across campus.

Since there will be a high volume of people and cars on campus during first-year move-in on August 30, we ask that supervisors of employees who are not assisting with move-in allow their staff to work from home if it is reasonable to do so.

Please fill out the Volunteer Form at the link below to sign up by Monday, August 12.

If you have questions, please email Jodie Fitzpatrick, jmfitzpatric@fairfield.edu or Allision Berger, aberger@fairfield.edu.

Thank you in advance for your participation!
