Communicating Catholicism: Brenda Noriega on young adults in the Church

Date: 09-11-2024

Time: 05:00 PM

Location: Dogwood Room, Barone Campus Center

“Communicating Catholicism” explores how the Catholic story is told in today’s cultural, social and media environment: the audience for a church bulletin is different than the audience for a short video on social media!

In this first event, Brenda Noriega, a graduate student in theology and ministry at Boston College, will share her reflections on being a young leader in ministry and education in the US Catholic Church. As a Commonweal synod fellow, she recently offered reflections on the need to reach young Catholic adults effectively, titled “Catholic Youth are Assets, Not Problems” (link below).

This conversation will offer Fairfield students a vision for careers in ministry, and invite us all to think more critically how we understand and speak to others about the Catholic faith.

Sponsored by the Center for Catholic Studies. To join us, please register for in-person or livestream at Fairfield.edu/cs or by contacting mcrimmins@fairfield.edu.
