Enhancements to university shuttle service

Date: 09-01-2024

Time: 07:00 AM

We are pleased to announce several important updates to our university shuttle services, designed to enhance both security and convenience for all riders.

Key Changes and Improvements:

  1. Stag Card Requirement: To strengthen security, we will soon require all riders to swipe their Stag Card to access university transportation.
  2. Extended Bellarmine Shuttle: The Bellarmine shuttle service has been extended to better serve our afternoon cohort. It will continue to operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays with the last departure from Bellarmine at 5 PM.
  3. On-Campus Shuttle: Certain stops will be designated as on-demand. Riders are advised to inform the driver if they need to disembark, and pick-ups will be made at stops where passengers are present.  During business hours the on-campus shuttle will now run its campus loop and service 1720 Post Road on an hourly basis, departing on the half-hour.
  4. Town Shuttle Enhancements:
    • Fairfield Train Station: To better accommodate travelers, the shuttle will now pick up and drop off at the top of the overpass, facilitating access from both directions.
    • New Stops: We are adding stops at the Grasmere & Post Rd, U-Haul Store in Black Rock and the Fairfield Metro Station (Alto parking garage side) for your convenience.  The 5PM shuttle will stop by Brewport.
    • Final Evening Run: The last shuttle departing campus at 9:50 PM will now include a stop at DBS and on-demand drop-offs at the Fairfield train station overpass, Grasmere & Post Rd, U-Haul(Blackrock), Metro Station(Alto parking garage side), and Brewport.

Track Your Shuttle: We encourage all riders to use the TransLoc app to monitor shuttle locations in real-time, ensuring a smooth and efficient travel experience.

These enhancements reflect our ongoing commitment to improving transportation services for our university community. We appreciate your cooperation and support as we implement these positive changes.

Best regards
