Mission and Practice: Jesuit Education at Fairfield
Date: 10-10-2024
Time: 04:00 PM
Location: Diffley Room, Bellarmine Hall
Fairfield University offers a distinctive academic program, marked by our Magis Core Curriculum, and animated by the call to be “The Modern Jesuit Catholic University.” How is this mission lived at Jesuit schools today, across the AJCU network?
Join us on Thursday, October 10th, for a panel discussion focusing on the recent issue of Conversations in Jesuit Higher Education (see link below). Engaging just some of the essays in that issue, Fr. John Mulreany, SJ will offer some perspective on the Jesuit community’s presence at Fairfield, Elizabeth Petrino (Professor of English) will discuss Ignatian pedagogy and Melissa Quan (Director of the Center for Social Impact) will reflect on the question of justice, including this summer’s AJCU Faith, Justice and Reconciliation Assembly. Questions and comments from all will follow the short presentations by the panelists, with the conversation continuing during a wine-and-cheese reception.
This event is organized by the College of Arts and Sciences, all University Faculty and Staff are welcome.
