You're invited to the last Breakfast Club of the semester

Date: 12-04-2019

Time: 09:00 AM

Location: Alumni House

Dear Colleagues:

Please join the Breakfast Club in partnership with the Triangle Community Center in conversation on December 4th at 9:00 am, Alumni House, to discuss the T in LGBTQ+ Sponsored by the Lucy Katz Dialogue and Resolution Program and the Office of Student Diversity and Multicultural Affairs.

It is not an understatement to say that the LGBTQ+ umbrella covers a wide range of different topics and can sometimes be confusing; this is why we think it is important to just focus on the T (trans*) for this month’s topic. Since most of us are new to these conversations we will be bringing in Anna Burns, who is the Community Educator from the Triangle Community Center to create a safe space and to bring her expertise to the table in order for us to have a dialogue, ask questions, and learn more about this community. In doing so, we will be more versed in terminology, be able to understand the nuances within the trans* community, have a safe space to ask questions, and ultimately we will learn how to best support our students and colleagues in the Fairfield University community.

Triangle Community Center (TCC) is Fairfield County's leading provider of programming and resources to nurture growth and connection within the LGBTQ community.

Triangle Community Center serves over 300 individuals who utilize its programs and services on a regular basis as well as over 5000 members of the Fairfield County community who attend a TCC program or event at least once a year. While our primary service area is Fairfield County, we often see people travel from Westchester, New Haven, and Litchfield counties to attend one of the programs we offer. TCC’s key target population is the LGBTQ community in Fairfield County, however, we welcome all who seek our services and have many clients who do not identify as LGBTQ.

These dialogues are open to all employees who have a sincere interest in engaging each other around difficult topics so we hope to see you on December 4th!
