Join us for an inspiring evening as part of the Bishop's Lecture Series, featuring acclaimed author and scholar Joseph Pearce, who will discuss how beauty, as seen through art, literature, and the natural world, can serve as a powerful vehicle for evangelization and spiritual renewal.
This free event will take place on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 7 p.m. in the Oak Room, Barone Campus Center, at Fairfield University. The Most Reverend Bishop Frank Caggiano Bishop of the Diocese of Bridgeport, will offer brief remarks. Following Pearce’s lecture, there will be an opportunity for dialogue and conversation.
Joseph Pearce is the internationally renowned author of several books on literature and faith, including: The Quest for Shakespeare, Tolkien: Man and Myth, The Unmasking of Oscar Wilde, C.S. Lewis and The Catholic Church, Literary Converts, Wisdom and Innocence: A Life of G.K. Chesterton, Solzhenitsyn: A Soul in Exile, and Old Thunder: A Life of Hilaire Belloc. A prominent speaker and educator, Pearce has lectured at universities and conferences around the world. He is currently editor of the St. Austin Review, and a visiting professor of literature at Ave Maria University.
