Catholicism and Gender, “Midpoints: Mothers, Mothering and Maternity”
Date: 02-26-2025
Time: 05:00 PM
Location: Webinar - Register Below
This is the second of three live seminars on Gender and Catholicism, featuring Professor Cristina Lledo Gomez, Senior Lecturer in Theology and Presentation Sisters Chair at BBI – The Australian Institute of Theological Education, brought to you by the Center for Catholic Studies at Fairfield University.
We have given this Spring 2025 series the theme of “Midpoints,” simply to recognize that with regard to the questions about the Church and the topics of gender, sex and sexuality, we are underway and have been for some time, but progress is uneven and, in a changing cultural context, we are not sure how to frame the goal. Professor Gomez’ focus will be on “Mothers, Mothering and Maternity.”
Each seminar also features a respondent from Commonweal magazine, this time it will be Mollie Wilson O’Reilly, editor-at-large and columnist for Commonweal.
