This documentary screening is a powerful intersection of art and social impact. Originally conceived as a stage production by Don Sawyer in 2018, this project was never about entertainment—it was about feeling and connecting as humans. It was about hearing the raw, personal stories of formerly incarcerated individuals, understanding their struggles with reentering society, and asking ourselves: What can we do about this?

As Fairfield University takes its first steps into the Jesuit Prison Education Network, this event marks our commitment to transformative initiatives with justice-impacted individuals. We are also partnering with EMERGE CT as they expand their work into Bridgeport.

A moderated discussion with the men featured in the film will follow the screening. The discussion will explore how safe spaces, opportunities, and connections foster healing and transformation.

We invite you to join us for an evening of human connection, reflection and action. Light appetizers will be served.    RSVP
