March 18 in the Kelley Center: Film Screening & Discussion of Farming While Black, a Critically Acclaimed Feature Film

The Fairfield University community and public is invited to a screening of the award-winning feature film, Farming While Black, on Tuesday, March 18 at 4:00 pm in the Kelley Center. Following the screening, there will be a zoom talkback with Mark Decena, the Film’s Director and Danielle Peláez, Education Manager of Soul Fire Farm.
Farming While Black tells the story of Soul Fire Farm, an Afro-Indigenous centered community farm and training center, dedicated to uprooting racism and seeding sovereignty in the food system.
The event is co-sponsored by The Humanities Institute, Environmental Studies Program, and the Center for Social Impact.
