Please join painter, Anna Hostvedt for an Artist Talk on Thursday, April 10, 11am-noon in Loyola 8.
Anna Hostvedt paints small-scale, urban landscapes using subtle shifts in temperature within an almost monochromatic palette. She works on site, applying intense observation over a period of months or years, to create pictures that are infused with precise detail and poetic detachment.
She has presented work at galleries and institutions including the American Academy of Arts and Letters, New York, Steven Harvey Fine Art Projects, New York and the University of Maine Museum of Art, Bangor, ME. Her work was featured in two solo exhibitions at the Tibor De Nagy Gallery, New York in 2004 and 2007. Hostvedt is currently an adjunct instructor at The Cooper Union, from where she received her BFA in 1993.
