DiMenna-Nyselius Library Seeks Feedback on 3 Trial Databases

The DiMenna-Nyselius Library is pleased to share that we have begun temporary trial access to three new resources: Academic Writer, China Online Journals, and Scite AI Research Assistant. The purpose of these trials is for us to evaluate their content, usability, and usefulness in supporting learning and research at Fairfield. We invite you to test them and provide us with your feedback via our Resource Trial Feedback Form. You can find links to the trial resources and the feedback form via the link below.

The following resources are now available on a trial basis:
Academic Writer is a multidisciplinary APA style writing platform that combines self-paced learning modules, reference building tools, and guided writing support to assist students with APA style scholarly writing. This resource will be available until May 16th.

China Online Journals (Humanities and Social Sciences) provides full-text access to over 3,000 journals published in China. This resource includes journals in both Chinese and English. Users may search the database using both Chinese and English keywords. This subject collection features journals in social science, education, literature, art, politics, law, and business. This resource will be available until April 15th.

Scite AI Research Assistant is an AI research tool trained on scholarly journals that generates answers to research questions. It provides cited sources and an explanation for the search strategies it used. This tool can be used to build exportable reference lists, summarize research, and brainstorm ideas. This resource will be available until April 17th.

Please note that these resources are available temporarily on a trial basis to allow us to evaluate them for permanent subscription. Whether we can subscribe to these products on a more permanent basis depends on budgetary approval. Your feedback is vital to this process as we determine how best to serve the research and learning needs of students and faculty.

If you believe this resource would be useful to your discipline, we strongly suggest you provide detailed feedback. Feedback such as which courses, programs, or research areas you believe the resource will support is especially useful. To provide feedback on any of these resources, please fill out the
Resource Trial Feedback Form.
