Glee Club Spring Concert

Date: 04-05-2025

Time: 07:30 PM

Location: Quick Center for the Arts

Join the University Glee Club for their Spring Concert on Saturday April 5, at 7:30 pm at the Quick Center for the Arts.

The concert is a collaboration with the students of the University Jazz Ensemble, directed by Brian Q. Torff and joined by faculty guest artists James Finegan, piano and Kurt Leon, percussion, and student guest artist Ava Hricko, tap dance soloist. The first half of the concert, featuring the Glee Club and Jazz Ensemble, is comprised exclusively of music by Duke Ellington, in the yearlong celebration of the 125th anniversary of his birth, and will include selections from his Sacred Concerts.

The second half of the concert is a musical tribute to longtime Glee Club accompanist Beth Palmer, on the occasion of her retirement. It will feature Glee Club alumni singers, and guest artists Carole Ann Maxwell, conductor, and Jonathan Palmer Lakeland, piano, in a program of American music and favorite Glee Club repertoire pieces. A reception will follow in Ms. Palmer’s honor.

As always, the concert will also feature performances by Sweet Harmony, the Bensonians, and the Chamber Singers.

Tickets are available through the Quick Center Box Office. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
