Jay Critchley: Irish TURF + The Great Wonder

Jay Critchley (Fairfield University ’69) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Provincetown whose work spans film, installation, architecture, community engagement, sculpture and performance, responding to ecological and cultural issues.

He comes from Irish stock and has been to Ireland numerous times in recent years, including for an artist residency at CIll Rialaig in Ballinskelligs, Co. Kerry. He will share two public art projects in this talk: one, The Great Wonder created for Dublin City Hall, and one that he is currently working on entitled TURF - tough, united, resilient, farmers, which involves encrusting a tractor in peat.
