AI Series: Salon/Lunches, Workshops, & Tool-Testing
The DiMenna-Nyselius Library's AI Series includes the following fall programs that are open to all Fairfield University students, faculty, and staff. The Library is pleased to partner on several of these events with the Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) and the CAS Fredrickson Family Innovation Lab.
AI Salon & Lunch: The Apostolic Preferences (registration required - limited seating)

Discussion of artificial intellgience in relation to Jesuit values, with Father Kevin O'Brien & Prof. Jason Smith (Philosophy).
AI Literacy Workshops (registration required - FYE Academic credit)
Learn how to use AI tools critically and ethically. Three dates to choose from:

Book Cafe: Technology in Literature
Tues. Sept. 30th, 12:30-1:30pm, Virtual
A casual online space to discuss our favorite fiction and non-fiction books in which AI and other tech is featured. Like other Book Cafes, there will be a literary game at the end with a chance to win a prize.
AI Sandbox Tool-testing Drop-in
Fri. Oct. 17th, 9:30am-11am, Library, CAS Innovation Lab
Hands-on learning about a variety of different tools.

Open discussion for everyone to share how they are using AI within their professional or personal lives, or raise questions and ideas about AI tools, ethics, and more.
