Cross-Pollinating Best Practices in Teaching & Learning Across Disciplines
Date: 09-24-2025
Time: 05:00 PM
Location: Fredrickson Family Innovation Lab
The Fredrickson Family Innovation Lab cordially invites you to join a truly interdisciplinary workshop this fall—“Cross-Pollinating Best Practices in Teaching & Learning Across Disciplines”. This workshop brings together faculty from seemingly unrelated disciplines in a series of interactive workshops to compare, contrast, and combine teaching strategies from each field. Led by Dr. Navin Maswood (Biology) and Dr. Jason Smith (Philosophy), participants will engage in guided reflection and collaborative dialogue to discover fresh approaches and enrich their instructional toolkit. Hosted in the Fredrickson Family Innovation Lab—an incubator for interdisciplinary creativity—this project highlights the unique strengths of each discipline and fosters genuine cross-pollination of ideas. By stepping beyond traditional academic boundaries, educators will develop more flexible, innovative, and impactful teaching practices."
To accommodate as many interested faculty as possible, we will offer the workshop twice –once on September 24 and a rerun on October 1. Please use the links below for more information. This is an RSVP-only event. Food will be provided. If you have any questions, please reach out to innovationlab@fairfield.edu.
