Author Annabel Keenan Visits the Downtown Store for New Book, Oct. 23
Date: 10-23-2025
Time: 05:00 PM
Location: Downtown Bookstore
Author Annabel Keenan will visit the Fairfield University Store, 1499 Post Rd, in downtown Fairfield, for a signing of her new book, Climate Action in the Art World - Towards a Greener Future. The meet and greet will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 23.
Keenan's timely and urgent book reviews the work that has been undertaken to date to create a more sustainable art world and proposes the next steps in system-wide change. It identifies the main sustainability issues for the art industry, arguing that artists and art activists have led the way in creating awareness of climate change, and evaluates progress to date on climate-action commitments by the various sectors of the art world, offering examples of best practice.
Uncompromising in its messages, Climate Action in the Art World is essential reading for all art professionals, from artists to curators to art handlers, as well as for anyone seeking an accessible entry-point to a topic which is unfortunately only getting (literally) hotter.
Annabel Keenan is a New York-based freelance writer covering contemporary art and environmental sustainability for publications including The New York Times, Financial Times, and The Art Newspaper. She is the author of "Climate Action in the Art World: Towards a Greener Future," published in 2025 by Lund Humphries and Sotheby's Institute. Annabel has held roles in museums worldwide, including The Morgan Library and the Victoria & Albert Museum, and was once an intern at the Fairfield University Art Museum. She holds a B.A. in art history and Italian language from Emory University and an M.A. in decorative arts, design history, and material culture from Bard Graduate Center.
