In 2019, Sigrid Adriaenssens, Professor of Engineering and Director of the Form Finding Lab at Princeton, visual artist Janet Echelman, and choreographer Rebecca Lazier began collaborating on a multifaceted, multidisciplinary project that brings together engineering, dance, sculpture, geometry, topology, rigging, performance, and circus. Noli Timere features eight performers dancing up to 25 feet in the air within a voluminous, custom designed Echelman net sculpture, and is choreographed to an original score by French Canadian composer Jorane, who performs live on stage.
