THIS THURSDAY: A Louder Bullhorn or An Extended Hand? Ethics of Justice and Citizenship in the African Diaspora

The Politics Department invites Dr. Siba Grovogui, on Thursday, October 23 at 5:30pm in the Library Auditorium. Dr. Grovoui is the President of the International Studies Association and a professor of International Relations, Political Theory, and Law at Cornell University. He is the author of Sovereigns, Quasi-Sovereigns, and Africans: Race and Self-determination in International Law (University of Minnesota Press, 1996) and Beyond Eurocentrism and Anarchy: Memories of International Institutions and Order (Palgrave, 2006).
A leading critical scholar of international studies, Dr. Grovogui will offer perspectives on an African tradition, centuries-old, that promotes disinterested embrace of the other as key to sustainable peace, a critique of the kind of authoritarianism that prevails in global politics today.
