AI Unpacked: Understanding the Technology Transforming Our World
Date: 11-13-2025
Time: 05:00 PM
Location: Downtown Bookstore, Second Story
In today’s rapidly evolving tech landscape, Artificial Intelligence (AI) stands as one of the most transformative—and least understood—innovations shaping our world. Join Anca Micu, PhD, senior associate dean of the Dolan School of Business, and Tommy Xie, PhD, associate professor in the College of Arts and Sciences, for the latest Campus Connect event, with a special presentation and Q&A session as they demystify AI:
- What is it? How does it go beyond just ChatGPT?
 - How can it help our daily lives?
 - What are different AI apps to use?
 - How is it changing the world of business and jobs?
 - Go behind the privacy ethics of AI governance and data collection.

AI Unpacked: Understanding the Technology Transforming Our World will take place from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, Second Story of the Fairfield University Store, 1499 Post Road, downtown Fairfield. Anca Micu will also discuss her new book, AI Made Simple: Copy and Paste Guides for Everyday Tasks, which shows the reader step-by-step how to use AI platforms with ready-to-use prompts that make everyday tasks easier.
The Campus Connect speaker series engages Fairfield's on-campus and off-campus communities in topical conversations hosted by a variety of local and University experts — from Fairfield faculty and staff, to town government and school officials. Monthly events are held in the newly renovated upstairs gathering space at the downtown bookstore.
