Martin Luther King Jr. Vision Award 2026

Martin Luther King Jr. Vision Award 2026

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Committee seeks to honor the legacy of Dr. King’s untiring commitment to racial justice by locating his efforts squarely within Fairfield University's Mission Statement, which defines our community as united by a "common concern for others" and a "passion for scholarship, justice, truth, and freedom." The MLK Committee organizes a series of events, including a Convocation in recognition of the national MLK holiday.  We promote the struggle for racial and social justice as grounded in peace, love, nonviolence, and a recognition of human dignity.

The MLK Vision Awards recognize individuals whose records of leadership and service reflect a commitment to advancing the ideals and values of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. There are five categories of Vision Awards: undergraduate student, graduate student, staff, faculty, and community leader. Award winners are selected via nomination and will be publicly recognized at the Vision Awards Ceremony in February
2026. Undergraduate students nominated for the MLK Vision Award will automatically be considered for the MLK Committee’s $1,000 Ripple of Hope Scholarship.

Please use this form to submit your nomination. We welcome nominations (including self-nominations) from all members of the Fairfield University community.

The deadline for all nominations is Monday, December 1, 2025.
