Date: 02-11-2026

Time: 06:00 PM

Location: Quick Center

Every year, the Fairfield University community gathers to celebrate the life, message, and legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Our theme this year – Challenging Injustice: Fear as Fuel for Change – invites you to reflect on our collective role in making Dr. King’s vision of the Beloved Community a reality.

We are delighted to be welcoming the author Dr. Eddie S. Glaude, Jr. to give the MLK Convocation address at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, February 11 in the Quick Center. The Convocation is a calling of community, a chance to gather together and reaffirm our “common commitment to truth and justice,” as enunciated in our University Mission Statement.

The Convocation is the highlight of our MLK events, which also include:

  • Monday, February 9 (10:00 am – 2:00 pm), MLK Teach-In in BCC lower level
  • Tuesday, February 10 (6:00 - 7:30 pm), Vision Awards Reception in BCC Oak Room
  • Friday, February 13 (12:00 – 3:00 pm), Douglass Day Transcribe-A-Thon in the Library Innovation Lab
  • Wednesday, February 18 (12:00 - 2:00 pm), Celebration of Activism in BCC Oak Room

Our MLK celebrations offer a path for us to engage in meaningful ways, foster dialogue, encourage reflection, and inspire action.
