“Questions We Cannot ‘Safely Disregard’: Poverty, Human Dignity, and Artificial Intelligence”

Kim Daniels, JD

Director of Georgetown University’s Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life

Pope Leo XIV challenges us all – particularly those of us engaged with the mission of a Jesuit Catholic institution – to remember that we cannot "safely disregard the poor;" those struggling in our rapidly changing social and economic context. Mindful of this, America Media and Fairfield University’s John Charles Meditz College of Arts and Sciences is pleased to invite you to a lecture offered by Kim Daniels, Director of the Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life at Georgetown University, who will address how concern for the poor today takes on new dimensions — and a renewed urgency — as increasing automation and the rise of artificial intelligence impacts workers, justice, and human dignity.

Co-sponsored by the Center for Catholic Studies and Center for Social Impact in honor of their 20th anniversary.
