February 23: The Iranian Revolution to Get out of the Darkness

Date: 02-23-2026

Time: 05:00 PM

Location: Kelley Center Presentation Room

Iran is in the midst of a nationwide revolution that began in late December 2025. The Iranian people took to the streets, waving the lion and sun flags across the country and chanting, “Javid Shah” (Long Live the Shah). The Islamic Republic regime responded by shutting down the internet and killing tens of thousands of defenseless people.

Please join us in this illuminating talk with author, Maryam Kamali, PhD, who published her memoir, An Iranian Woman Passing Through the Age of Darkness. Professor Kamali’s memoir vividly depicts her life journey from a small town in Iran and on the everyday lives of Iranian people who seek to live in peace and prosperity, yet whose voices are being silenced.
