Proofpoint Email Digest Available Starting 2/24
Members of the Fairfield community,
ITS is pleased to announce a new email security feature designed to give you greater control over your inbox while maintaining robust protection against spam and phishing attacks.
What's New?
You will periodically receive an email in the morning with the subject "End User Digest” when messages addressed to you have been quarantined as potential spam or bulk mail. This digest provides a convenient summary of potential spam or quarantined messages and allows you to manage them directly without needing to contact ITS. If you do not receive this message, it is because no messages addressed to you were quarantined in the last 24 hours.
How It Works:
When emails are flagged and held in quarantine, you'll receive a digest email shortly after 8 AM containing:
A list of quarantined messages
Sender information and subject lines
Simple action buttons to manage each message
Available Actions:
From your digest, you can:
- Release – Deliver the message to your inbox if it's legitimate
- Allow Sender – Deliver the message and add the sender to your Safe Senders list for future emails
- Block Sender – Add the sender to your Blocked Senders list to prevent future messages
- Delete – Delete the message from your email quarantine
- Report Phish – To help the Proofpoint system learn that the potential phishing message is indeed a phishing message
Why This Matters:
This tool helps ensure you don't miss important communications that may have been incorrectly filtered, while still protecting you from unwanted or malicious emails. You maintain control over what reaches your inbox.
Getting Started:
No action is required. You will automatically receive your first digest once a message is held in quarantine.
