AI Tool "BoodleBox" Available for Faculty Use
The Center for Academic Excellence and the DiMenna-Nyselius Library are pleased to invite faculty to take part in a trial of a new AI tool called BoodleBox, designed especially for educators and including access to all of the major AI chatbots. Thanks to Information Technology Services, the University has acquired a set of licenses for testing across campus, and in this case in our classrooms and online courses. Because the number of licenses we currently possess are somewhat limited, we are asking any faculty interested in trying out BoodleBox to agree to the following process:
- Fill out the AI Pilot Request form at AI Pilot Request
- Attend one of a handful of one-hour Zoom or in-person demonstration and brainstorming sessions to learn the basics of the tool from Academic Computing and share ideas on how you might use it (sessions will take place the week of March 16 — exact times will be determined shortly)
- Receive BoodleBox license and work with it for two-three weeks
- Connect with the CAE and Academic Computing on a Zoom drop-in session if you have questions, need consultation, etc. (this check-in is optional)
- Agree to attend the required end-of-semester review session with other faculty trial users, or respond to our BoodleBox Assessment Survey, to share experiences
You can get a basic overview of Boodlebox via this interactive tutorial, or this short video. Then, if you’re interested in testing out BoodleBox and can accommodate the above process, please fill out the AI Pilot Request form and we’ll send you a link for the Zoom demo sessions. Attending a session is required and licenses will only be granted to those who take part.
Thank you for your interest, and we look forward to working with you as we explore this new type of tool for teaching and learning.
Sincerely,
- Jay Rozgonyi, Associate Vice Provost for Pedagogical Innovation & Effectiveness
- Curtis Ferree, Associate Dean for Public Services & Coordinator of the Academic Commons Partnership
