Cura Personalis: Social Awareness and the Catholic Healthcare approach: A joint initiative of the Diocese of Bridgeport and the Health Studies minor
Date: 04-18-2026
Time: 01:30 PM
Location: Egan Chapel of St. Ignatius Loyola and the McGrath Commons
For the second year in a row, the St. Luke’s Guild will be holding an event in the Egan Chapel and the McGrath Commons. It will take place on the afternoon of Saturday, April 18th from 2 PM to about 6 PM. The theme is: Cura Personalis: Social Awareness and the Catholic Healthcare approach. It will highlight the care of the whole person as well as the connection between Catholic Healthcare and Catholic Social Teachings.
The keynote speaker will be Dr. Matthew Kenny, Vice President for Mission Services, St. Vincent’s Hospital, Hartford Healthcare. Dr. Kenny has had a long history in Catholic healthcare and Catholic higher level education. The Bishop’s Guild office is also assembling a panel to discuss the theme. Dr. Kenny has personally noted that St. Vincent’s would like to interact more with Fairfield students to foster recruiting of future employees.
The day will conclude with a dinner provided by the Bishop in McGrath Commons in order to facilitate networking between students and Catholic healthcare workers in the community. We hope that this will facilitate shadowing opportunities.
To register for the event, please e-mail Ann Marie Wheeler at StLukeGuild@diobpt.org or (203) 416-1344.
