Before we all begin our summer breaks, the CAE would like to invite faculty and staff to join us in the next academic year for the 2026-2027 Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm workshop series. In a series of six meetings, a group of interested participants will have the opportunity to deeply explore the principles of Ignatian Pedagogy and further our understanding of how they can be incorporated into our classes, our work, and our overall interactions supporting students. The small cohort, led by CAE Director Jay Rozgonyi and Director of Campus Ministry Fr. John Savard, will gather three times in the Fall and three times in the Spring to reflect upon and discuss a series of readings, videos, poems, and other material curated by the AJCU, all with the aim of making the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm more accessible to participants.
We are now inviting any faculty or staff member who is interested in joining us for the 2026-2027 series to fill out an application at the link below. Before doing so, however, we suggest that you read and reflect upon this document - https://jesuitinstitute.uk/Resources/Ignatian%20Pedagogy%20Abridged%20%20(Jan%2014)%20210x210%20MASTER.pdf- which provides an overview of Ignatian pedagogy so you can consider how you might see yourself incorporating Ignatian principles into your teaching or other campus work.
The proposed in-person meeting days and times are as follows, but if you're interested in the program and these days don't work for you, please apply anyway and note that in your application; we're happy to find an alternate set of times once our full group is set.
Wednesday, September 30, 10 to 11:30 am
Wednesday, October 28, 10 to 11:30 am
Wednesday, December 2, 10 to 11:30 am
Wednesday, February, 10 to 11:30 am (tentative based on participants’ schedules)
Wednesday, March 10, 10 to 11:30 am (tentative based on participants’ schedules)
Wednesday, April 14, 12:30 - 2 pm (tentative based on participants’ schedules)
In addition to the six working sessions, we will come together one additional time at the end of the Spring semester to celebrate our work together. The day and time for that will be determined based on the availability of all cohort members.
One final note: This workshop series requires pre-session readings and the maintenance of a reflection journal to guide you to points of action. We therefore recommend that you review the pilot curriculum (https://ajcunet.edu/ip-certificate-program/) prior to applying.
Anyone interested in being considered for the ‘26-‘27 Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm Workshop Series should fill out the form at 2026-2027 Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm Workshop Series (https://forms.office.com/r/0jjS10e0D9). Any questions about the series can be sent to cae@fairfield.edu.
Thank you, and we hope to have a number of you join us in the Fall.
Jay Rozgonyi, on behalf of the Center for Academic Excellence
