Be A Starfish: Act Against! Open Forum dinner and dialogue

Date: 02-27-2020

Time: 06:30 PM

Location: McCormick, First Floor Commons

The Starfish International educational program in The Gambia, West Africa, has been hosting Fairfield students on summer international internships for almost four years now.  The incredibly contagious entrepreneurial spirit of Starfish students and staff have inspired our community to see the world with new eyes, and to realize more of our own potential to make a difference in the lives of young women and men through education.

Join former Starfish intern and McCormick RA Micah Martin-Parchment '21 as she brings the spirit of Starfish to campus on February 27th for an Open Forum dinner and dialogue with leaders of the organization on campus.  The event, "Be A Starfish, Act Against!" begins at 6.30 pm in the First Floor McCormick Commons.  All students, staff and faculty welcome.

Micah is a Public Health major with minors in Psychology and Black Studies, and will lead the discussion with "Uncle" Sana Sarr on how Starfish International goes about acting against injustice, while providing some coveted  insight into the vibrant Gambian culture.

Thursday, February 27th, 6.30 pm, McCormick First Floor Commons.
