CAE Workshops - Creating Continuity: Teaching Across Modalities

Location: Library 107C and Online via Zoom

AT THE REQUEST OF THE ACADEMIC COUNCIL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE, THE CAE IS ADDING ADDITIONAL SESSIONS OF THE FOLLOWING WORKSHOP.

Please join the CAE and ITS/Academic Computing for one of two workshops entitled “Creating Continuity: Teaching Across Modalities.”

It is the responsibility of our institution to be nimble in our adjustment from face-to-face to online teaching, and while we don’t anticipate the need to utilize this skill, it would be wise for all instructors to think about doing so in the unlikely event that we may need to teach a portion of the semester remotely.  This workshop will review strategies and options for doing so, and will be run five times over the next week:
  1. Thursday, March 5, 3:30 - 4:30 pm (Library 107C)
  2. Friday, March 6, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm (Library 107C)
  3. Monday, March 9, 1:00 - 2:00 pm (Library 107C)
  4. Tuesday, March 10, 1:00 - 2:00 pm — ONLINE VIA ZOOM
  5. Wednesday, March 11, 2:00 - 300 pm (Library 107C)

Each will present a set of guiding principles as well as an array of resources available to assist you in the event that face-to-face courses would ever need to be moved online on short notice.  This workshop will also assist those planning to teach hybrid or online courses to our returning Florence students.

Please sign up at the link below, and indicate whether you would like to come to one of the in-person sessions or receive the Zoom link for viewing the online session.  (The online session will be recorded and the link posted for on-demand viewing following the workshop.)
