Poetry for Peace Contest Judges Sought

English Department

If the idea of reading a lot of poems by young people on the subject of peace sounds like a terrific antidote to your February winter blues, please join us in judging Fairfield University's annual Poetry for Peace contest. We will choose winners from entries submitted by Bridgeport and Fairfield students in grades K-8, and then will host them at a winners' reading and celebration in April, National Poetry Month.

Now in its eleventh year, Poetry for Peace is one of Fairfield's most uplifting annual events. Judging the contest is a small commitment of time. We will meet twice during February and early March to discuss submissions and pick winners, and then we host an event on campus in April. It is a wonderful way to enact community on our campus. Please contact Carol Ann Davis at cdavis13@fairfield.edu by February 19 to participate or with questions.
