2019 Catholicism and the Arts lecture - Anthony Domestico

Anthony Domestico will give The 2019 Catholicism and The Arts Lecture, March 4th, 2019 (Rescheduled from October 17th 2018)

The 2019 Catholicism and The Arts Lecture will be delivered by Anthony Domestico, associate professor of literature at Purchase College, SUNY and the books columnist for Commonweal.  His lecture, “Art, Sacrament and Poetry,” is inspired by David Jones's 1955 essay, "Art and Sacrament," in which Jones thinks through the relationship between modernism and the sacraments.

 

Domestico completed his undergraduate degree at Harvard University. He continued his studies and earned his MA, MPhil, and PhD from Yale University. Currently, as an associate professor at SUNY Purchase, Domestico’s teaching interests are wide-ranging, varying from modernist poetry and prose to science fiction, the history of the lyric, and Jane Austen.

 

The “Art, Sacrament and Poetry”lecture is free and open to the public. It will take place at 4:30 p.m. in the Dolan School of Business Dining Room - Refreshments will be served.
