TODAY: Opening Reception for Exhibit; Ghosts: French Holocaust Children.

Location: Quick Center Lobby

An Opening Reception for the exhibit Ghosts: French Holocaust Children, will take place today, Wednesday, January 23, from 5:30-7:00 p.m., just outside the Walsh Gallery in the Quick Center Lobby.

Come and preview this arresting photographic installation, which presents the photographs of some of the 11,000 Jewish children deported from France during World War II, in most cases to their deaths in Nazi camps. The exhibit runs from January 24-March 2 at the Walsh Gallery.

This three-dimensional installation, by the artist Robert Hirsch and Hirsch Projects, includes images, collages, and scale models of the boxcars used to transport the children. The installation acts as a moving and ethereal commemoration to their abbreviated lives.

All are welcome. Light refreshments will be served.
