Jay Young Basketball Camp - Week 3

Date: 08-03-2020

Time: 09:00 AM

Location: Fairfield University - Rec Plex, Walsh Athletic Center & Alumni Hall

I hope this letter finds you all healthy and safe.  COVID-19 has certainly presented many challenges for all of us at Jay Young Basketball Camps but we remain committed to the safety and health of all of our campers.  We all are looking forward to a great summer at Jay Young Basketball Camps.  Our three weeks of camp in 2019 was an incredibly enjoyable and rewarding experience for my entire staff and players.  I hope you share in this sentiment as we look forward to many great moments this summer.

Obviously, we have been monitoring the COVID-19 Pandemic closely as it relates to all summer activities/camps at Fairfield University.  The State of Connecticut and Office of Early Childhood (OEC) has established a list of strict guidelines that must be followed for any camp to receive a license to operate during the summer of 2020.  We believe we can provide a safe and secure environment and will continue to operate Jay Young Basketball Camps during the summer of 2020, albeit with changes to our schedule and format.  These changes are necessary to comply with all rules and regulations set forth by the OEC.  Without making these schedule alterations, we felt it would be impossible to comply with the OEC regulations and would have been forced to cancel all weeks.

The new schedule will consist of two sessions of camp on a reduced hourly format.  For our last week of camp August 3rd to 7th, campers entering Grades 2-4 will attend our camp from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM, Monday through Friday.  Campers entering Grades 5-7 will attend camp from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.  NO lunch will be provided and the cost for each session will be $200. All campers (per OEC regulations) will stay in groups of a maximum of 14 campers per week and must remain with that same group at an assigned location for the entire week.   Again, this change in format was necessary to meet the many strict guidelines required to operate a camp in Connecticut during summer 2020.

All of us at Jay Young Basketball Camps are committed to running a first-class and safe experience for your children.  Please feel free to reach out and we can provide answers to any questions or concerns you may have.  Sincere thanks for all of your support.  We look forward to seeing you soon!
