Mental Health Awareness Week

Mental Health Awareness Week runs from October 4th - 10th this year and coincides with the following events:

Tuesday Oct. 6: National Day of Prayer for Mental Illness Recovery and Understanding

All members of the Fairfield University community are invited to write a prayer on a ribbon for a prayer intention and to join us in person or via zoom for Mass and a special prayer for those with mental illness for their recovery and for understanding.  Please visit the link below for more details:

Thursday Oct. 8: National Depression Screening Day

Our annual event has gone virtual!  We are encouraging all Fairfield University students to visit HelpYourselfHelpOthers.org to complete a free, anonymous, and confidential depression screening on October 8th.  Once a screening is completed, students can email FairfieldUCounselingRaffle@gmail.com to be entered to win a prize!

Throughout the week, please visit and follow the NEW official Instagram page of Counseling & Psychological Services @FairfieldUCounseling for event updates as well as our celebrity mental health ad campaign which features the stories of celebrities affected by mental illness.  Now more than ever, the mental health community must come together to fight stigma, inspire others, and raise awareness to show that no one is ever really alone.
