Project Overview

The municipal boundary between Fairfield and Bridgeport in Connecticut is one concrete manifestation of a deep economic and racial divide in Fairfield County, one of the points of most extreme segregation and income inequality in the nation. Sonya Huber has spent six years researching the issue and will present an overview of her book project, What Divides Us, which combines the fields of history, journalism, economics, geography, and other areas with personal experiences in order to understand the psychic terrain of the divide.
