Race and Privilege Researchers Needed for Project X,

The Theatre Program is preparing an original production about race and privilege, currently titled Project X It's a piece centered on Fairfield University, but reflective of America's 21st century struggle with race, freedom, and social justice. Project X will be performed in December 2021.

This spring semester, a core group of students will work as researchers, gathering first-person stories, which will serve as the basis for the eventual script.

We need your help.

We are casting a wide net for people to participate on this core research team.

  • Perhaps you know people who are passionate about social justice and/or BLM.
  • Perhaps you know a class that has a research project involving interviews and surveys.
  • Perhaps this can dovetail with a social justice research project.

This is not about acting or theatre experience--neither are required.  The core researchers do not need to become the eventual performers, though they are certainly welcome to audition next fall.

Participants will work under Prof. Lynne Porter and Godfrey Simmons, the Artistic Director of HartBeat Ensemble.  This project is supported by Rachelle Brun-Bevel, Faculty Chair for Inclusive Excellence.
