Hear from Prof. Tanika Eaves, Assistant Professor in the Undergraduate Social Work Program, about the importance of joining NCFDD:

Membership with the National Center for Faculty Diversity and Development has been essential to my transition into a second career as a junior faculty in the Undergraduate Social Work Program at the Egan School for Nursing and Health Studies here at Fairfield. The program has been an amazing support as well an accountability check point for me in terms of prioritizing teaching, scholarship, and service responsibilities, and creating a work/life balance.  The NCFDD offers informative webinars, newsletters, and inspirational “Monday Morning Motivator” emails about navigating academia in challenging times, and developing the skills essential to becoming a valuable contributing faculty member of any institution whether or not one is on the tenure-track.  I am so proud to hold membership with NCFDD as part of Fairfield University’s institutional membership.   The University’s membership with NCFDD signals a deep commitment to faculty growth, development, support, and success!

Questions about the membership?  Please contact Prof. Jocelyn M. Boryczka, Associate Vice Provost for Scholarly, Creative, and Community Engagement at jboryczka@fairfield.eduProf. Rachelle Brunn-Bevel, Faculty Chair for Inclusive Excellence, Prof. Stephanie Storms, Associate Dean of GSEAP, and Prof. Laurie Grupp, Dean of GSEAP, serve as additional contacts for NCFDD.  The NCFDD membership compliments the faculty development and support at Fairfield University provided by the Center for Academic Excellence and its Director of Curriculum Development, Prof. Carol Ann Davis; Faculty Liaison for Innovative Research, Prof. Kathy Nantz; and Faculty Chair for Inclusive Excellence, Prof. Rachelle Brunn-Bevel.

Please watch for further announcements and opportunities to learn more about NCFDD.  Thank you all for your continued dedication to our pursuit of diversity and inclusive excellence. I wish you all the best as the semester begins.
