Rebekah Beaulieu, PhD
Executive Director, Florence Griswold Museum

The Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme, Conn. is dedicated to interpreting the art, history, and landscape of Connecticut. Best known as the original site of the Lyme Art Colony at the turn of the 20th century, the Museum is now a vibrant site that includes an 1817 Georgian-style historic home, modern art galleries, and a lush 12-acre landscape for which a new interpretive plan was unveiled in 2019. This course will take you behind the scenes of this institution as we introduce you to its history, collections, and a sneak peek of our upcoming special exhibitions and projects. Join us as we discuss the future of the Florence Griswold Museum and as we lead provocative discussions of issues relevant to our current culture and the museum field such as accessibility, diversity, and sustainability.
