Town of Fairfield’s One Book One Town & Author Event, March 2

Date: 03-02-2021

Time: 07:00 PM

The town of Fairfield’s One Book One Town selection for 2021 is Punching the Air by award-winning, bestselling author Ibi Zoboi, and prison reform activist Dr. Yusef Salaam of the “Exonerated Five.” This is the story of a tragic event leading to an unjust imprisonment and its impact on family and community. Punching the Air shows how strength can be found in the power of art and poetry.

Both authors will host a virtual talk on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 7 p.m. and registration for the event is now open. Copies of Punching the Air are available for students, staff, and faculty in print at the DiMenna-Nyselius Library. Copies of the book can also be borrowed from the Fairfield Public Library or purchased at the Fairfield University downtown bookstore.

One Book One Town book selections are made each year by a committee comprised of members of the Fairfield Public Library, the Pequot Library, Fairfield University, Fairfield University Bookstore, and Fairfield Public Schools. This is the 13th year of Fairfield’s One Book One Town author event and town-wide community read.

The Fairfield Public Library will offer additional programming including the annual One Book One Town writing contest.
