Orientation Parent Small Group Chat Facilitators
This is a reminder that the Office of Student Engagement Orientation Team is looking for volunteers to facilitate our Parent/Guardian Small-Group Chats during Orientation this year for the first-year class of 2025. For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the Chats or need a refresher they serve as a touch point for Parents/Guardians to ask any questions that they may have, and to connect with each other. Roughly 10-15 parents/guardians will be paired up with a Facilitator (hopefully you!) and an NSL. These are informal chats (no PowerPoint presentations and we do not expect you to know everything about everything). We do, however, want you to feel prepared to talk about certain topics, so we provide a ton of information ahead of time to help prepare you to feel comfortable facilitating the conversations.
We are looking for roughly 20-25 facilitators, with the time commitment being the 75 minute session during Orientation (in-person), plus attendance at 1 of 2 Zoom trainings prior to Orientation (to review what to expect/go over during the actual session). We would, of course, love to have you for all 6 Orientation Sessions, but we understand if you can’t make that commitment.
The Small-Group Chats are scheduled for the following dates/times:
- June 22 -EGN and SOE
- June 23 - CAS
- June 24- DSB
- June 28- DSB
- June 29-CAS
- June 30- EGN and SOE
- All sessions will be held 4:30-5:45pm on the following days (with the potential of additional groups held 3:00-4:15pm)
The Trainings (choose one) are scheduled for the following dates/times:
- Monday, June 7th @ 1:00 pm on Zoom
- Thursday (June 10th) @ 1:00 pm on Zoom
