Date: Friday, October 22, 5:30 pm

Led by: Rabbi Jim Prosnit and Rabbi Evan Schultz (rabbi of Congregation B'nai Israel in Bridgeport)

Oneg Shabbat: Snacks and conversation follow the service

Our community partners in Bridgeport at the Connecticut Institute for Refugees and Immigrants are receiving Afghan refugees as we speak. Bridgeport is projected to welcome 100- 150 refugees from Afghanistan in the coming months. As part of our commitment to refugees, we are asking our community on both Friday and Sunday to bring gift cards of any value from any major retailer - Amazon, Target, Walmart, Visa, etc. to provide to incoming refugees. When folks arrive in Bridgeport, often they have the clothes on their backs and a cell phone. These gift cards will allow our neighbors to purchase the goods they need to start their new life in the U.S.

Co-sponsored by Campus Ministry and the Bennett Center for Judaic Studies
