Seeking Nominations: Community-Engaged Learning Faculty and Community Partner Awards

The Center for Social Impact is accepting nominations for two awards: The Outstanding Community Partner Award and The Rev. Jeffrey P. von Arx S.J. Award for Excellence in Community Engagement.

The Rev. Jeffrey P. von Arx S.J. Award for Excellence in Community Engagement -- named in honor of Fairfield University’s eighth president in recognition of his commitment to advancing community engagement in higher education – will be awarded to a full- or part-time faculty member at Fairfield University who has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to community-engaged teaching, research, and/or scholarship. The awardee will receive a certificate from the Center for Social Impact and $500 toward the advancement of his/her community engagement work.

Nominations can be made by Fairfield University faculty, staff, students, and community partners. Click here to learn more and submit your nomination for The Rev. Jeffrey P. von Arx S.J. Award for Excellence in Community Engagement.

The Outstanding Community Partner Award will recognize a community partner for their contribution to community engagement with Fairfield University. Nominees must be a community organization that has collaborated with a Fairfield University community-engaged learning course during the past two academic years. Ideally, nominations will recognize community organizations but nominations for individual community members will be considered.

The Outstanding Community Partner will receive a certificate from the Center for Social Impact and a $500 donation to their organization (or in the case of community member nominations, to the organization or project of their choice).

Nominations can be made by Fairfield University faculty, staff, and students, as well as community partners. Click here to learn more and submit your nomination for The Outstanding Community Partner Award.

The deadline for nominations for both awards is Friday, February 25th. Please reach out to Mary Crimmins, Administrative Coordinator in the Center for Social Impact, with any questions.
