Please join us for the 29th Annual Christopher F. Mooney, S.J. Lecture on Theology, Religion and Society with lecturer John Stowe, Bishop of Lexington, Kentucky titled A Better Kind of Politics: The Vision of Fratelli Tutti.

In the depths of the pandemic, Pope Francis wrote his encyclical letter, Fratelli Tutti, to address the need for global fraternity. Expanding on his original plan to write about the needed cooperation of the world's religions, the pope laments the missed opportunity for the human family to be united in response to the pandemic, and expresses the hope that people of faith and people of goodwill can promote a new and better approach to politics and the common good.  Our Catholic tradition contains all the elements for this vision, it would even be compatible with our democratic system in its ideal form, but it requires individual and societal conversion: are we willing to try?

This event will be in person in DSB Event Hall at 7:30pm on Wednesday, November 9th and livestreamed. To register for the livestream, please go to www.fairfield.edu/cs
